• Daft Punk @ Red Box, Dublin 1997

To anyone reading this, Daft Punk once did a tour in 1997 called the 'Daftendirekt Tour' which was later renamed to 'Alive 1997' and a 45-minute excerpt from the Que Club in Birmingham was put on a CD. Now, they also played at lots of other venues including Rex Club and Red Box in Dublin. The special thing about this recording at The Red Box is that Guy and Thomas played 'Revolution 909' in a similar way in which it is found on 'Homework' and 'Fresh' was also played in a similar way. If you heard lots of live bootlegs of the Dafts then you would know that these two songs are rarely played live when they tour. Bootlegs of the recording were then sold after the event on tape so if you have one or know someone who has one I would love to get my hands on it and share it.

Lone – Galaxy Garden review

Lone, also known as Matt Cutler, is an electronic producer from Manchester. From the humble beginnings of his first album ‘Everything is changing colour’ in 2007 with gauzy synth pads and ambient sonic landscapes his sound has evolved by a tenfold to an even more organic sound. The result is his new album ‘Galaxy garden’, … Continue reading

Laszlo Dancehall – Gave up

The day has come, ‘Gave up’ has finally been released officially. But before we get to the good part, let me talk about the other two songs that are found on the release too. ‘Manley Harrision’ is a dark techy song driven by a deep synth chord and ominous vocals. It has a nice ‘big … Continue reading

Soothing deep house, what else could you want? The PM atlantic and the AM pacific version of the song ‘Brothers & sisters’ are perfect songs to alleviate after anything disquieting. Happy 200k!

I hit 200000 views on this blog on the weekend, time to celebrate eh? Again, I post more UK funky releases, there is something about that genre that no other can quite mimic: lax pads, disperse vocals, twisted basslines and untold atmospheres. That is probably the best way to describe this EP in one sentence. … Continue reading

Computer Graphics – Synthavision

Just found this, voluptuous EP from a prodigious diminutive label based in Washington DC, specializing in bass-heavy opulent tunes ranging from grime to UK garage to fidgety 80s electro house and anything in between. Lately I’ve had a penchant for sensuous and fresh music but this one hits the spot perfectly. From the deep grooves … Continue reading

Miami Noize 2013

FaltyDL – Hardcourage/Our house stab

Drew Lustman aka FaltyDL is back with a new EP. Fusing dubby techno, oldskool rave stabs and deep house chords effortlessly in this release, FaltyDL has created yet another two signature tunes for him. ‘Hardcourage’ is laid-back with an eerie bassline, mysterious stabs and reggae-like percussion. But the song that really was the cause of … Continue reading

In the mood for some organic and earthy tunes? Look no further, this is all you need! Warm bass, joyful vocals, slow beats and bright synths are always a good mix to relax to. WK7/Head High – Do it yourself/Rave

Been busy moving house in the last couple of weeks and I apologize for not posting a lot. But this should change because this here is a post. I post this because the former editor of this blog ‘glass’ keeps posting these lovely techno videos and mixes on facebook of which I can’t get enough … Continue reading
